Sean Cuadra (Executive Director) is an entrepreneur with experience in customer service, sales/marketing and event planning. Sean owns a business specializing in custom gift design and corporate branding. Sean helped raise over 5 million for non-profit organizations in San Diego. Sean has an interest in assisting at-risk and underrepresented groups. He enjoys spending time with his family and keeping up on the latest Apple technology.
Maria Miller (Treasurer) is a Faculty Emeritus at Palomar College in the Behavioral Sciences Dept. She was a full-time educator for 35 years serving in various leadership positions, retiring in 2013. She holds two Masters degrees and is licensed as a Marriage and Family. She has extensive experience working with non-profit organizations.
Maria has been involved with Toys for Thailand since 2005. She served as Co-Director of IHC Toys for Thailand and Executive Director of Toys for Thailand, Inc. from 2012-2017.
Maureen Kelley (Secretary) was a lecturer in the Department of Rhetoric and Writing Studies at San Diego State University for almost twenty years. During that time, she also served as the Director of the Freshman Success Program for three years. She has both a B.A. and M.A. in English as well as a lengthy history in the legal field as a paralegal and a Marketing Director. Maureen has served as a volunteer on two Toys for Thailand humanitarian trips and is familiar with the scope of and individuals involved in the organization’s work.
Paul Marshall (Board Member) is a retired US Navy Captain (O-6) who currently owns and manages an engineering consulting practice in downtown San Diego. Previously, he worked extensively in Southeast Asia (primarily Thailand) with the US Navy supporting collaborative research projects between the US Navy and Thailand’s academic, government and military research organizations. Paul has made over 80 trips to Thailand in the past 15 years and has established a large number of professional relationships there. In addition to his Toys for Thailand work, he has organized and led teams of Navy volunteers at several community charity projects assisting Thai schools and an orphanage. He has also led volunteer efforts partnering with the Navy’s Project Handclasp organization and the Navy League in Thailand. Paul is a founding Toys for Thailand board member and has attended every Small World Festival in Mae Hong Son since 2011.
Ellen Pterudis (Board Member) is an accomplished interior designer and artist. She has traveled internationally to design for hotels, major developers and celebrity clients. Currently, she is developing her new children’s books that teach life lessons through lovable characters such as gnomes and endangered animals. Ellen has been involved with Toys for Thailand for many years, serving as a volunteer at fundraising and social events.
Kristy Laimon (Board Member) is a freelance photographer and visual merchandiser for international companies that represent some of your favorite gifts and home decor. Recently, Kristy and her husband just opened their brewery, Papa Marce’s Cerveceria, located in Carlsbad, California.
Sasha Bilar (Founder and Consultant) founded Toys for Thailand after the December 2004 Asian Tsunami and served the organization as Co-Director and Director of Thailand Operations. Sasha earned a degree in Political Science and joined a Bangkok Media Firm to produce documentary shows for broadcast TV. Upon emigrating from Thailand to the United States, Sasha completed a Master’s Degree in Art & Design at California State University Fullerton. She is President and CEO of Spectrum ITC group. Sasha has guided the firm into Global Technology Consulting. Fluent in Thai and English, Sasha has worked as a volunteer translator helping the office of Basic Education Commission (OBEC) with UNICEF and Childline Thailand.
